石桂秀，男，主任医师，风湿病学教授，博士，博士研究生导师。四川省卫生厅学术带头人。四川省免疫学会理事长。中国免疫学会常务理事。国家自然科学基金二审专家。成都市医学会风湿免疫专业委员会主任委员。1985年毕业于河北承德医学院医学系，1992年于苏州医学院获硕士学位，92年起，于大连大学附属中山医院从事风湿免疫工作，其间1995-2000年任该院风湿免疫科主任。2000年底赴加拿大蒙特利尔大学医学中心攻读博士学位，2004年获博士学位。博士毕业后在位于美国纽约州的Trudeau研究所从事博士后研究。2007年2月任美国德州大学助理教授，同年10月被华西医院一层次人才引进，任风湿免疫学教授并被遴选为博士生导师。多年来致力于风湿免疫病的临床与科研工作。发表高水平学术论文多篇。对风湿病的病因、发病机制有较深入的研究。目前主持国家自然基金重点项目继续围绕风湿病的发病机制和治疗进行研究。

研究方向：一、免疫调控与免疫耐受，免疫耐受的打破被认为是自身免疫性疾病产生的基础而诱导耐受又是移植免疫的重要研究课题。我们试图通过研究免疫细胞的调控来进一步认识免疫耐受以期达到发现自身免疫病诊断和治疗的新靶点。 二、风湿病的病机和治疗学研究。从免疫学的角度研究风湿病的发病机制和探索免疫治疗的新途径。
